What to Expect at Your First Aesthetic Consultation

Every treatment at Le Skin Aesthetics begins the same way: with a conversation. Before any injectable, microneedling session, or regenerative therapy, you and I sit down and talk. That first visit is the consultation, and it is the most important appointment you will have with us. This is what happens in it, what to bring, and how to get the most out of the hour.

Why the consultation comes first

Aesthetic medicine is still medicine. A treatment that is right for one person can be wrong for the next. Your skin, your anatomy, your health history, and your goals all shape what I recommend. I cannot know any of that from a booking form.

The consultation also protects you from a decision you did not fully make. You hear the options, the trade-offs, the timeline, and the cost before anything touches your face. If you leave and decide to wait, that is a good outcome too.

Before you arrive

You do not need to prepare much. A few things make the visit smoother:

• Your goals, in your own words. "I look tired in photos" is more useful than a treatment name. We work backward from the concern.
• A list of medications and supplements. Some affect bruising, healing, or which treatments are safe. Include over-the-counter products and vitamins.
• Your medical history. Allergies, past procedures, pregnancy or breastfeeding, autoimmune conditions, and any history of cold sores or keloid scarring all matter.
• Reference photos, if you have them. Not to copy a face, but to show me what "natural" means to you. People use that word differently.
• Questions. Write them down. It is easy to forget them once you are in the chair.

Come with clean skin if you can. It makes the assessment easier. If you are coming from work with makeup on, that is fine, and we have what you need to remove it.

What happens in the room

A consultation usually runs in four parts.

1. We talk about what brought you in

You tell me what you see when you look in the mirror and what you would like to change. I listen more than I talk in this part. I also ask what you do not want, which is often the more important answer.

2. I review your history

We go through your medical background, medications, and past treatments. This is where we rule things out. If something is not safe for you right now, I say so, and we look at what is.

3. I assess your face

I look at skin quality, volume, symmetry, and how your features move. Good aesthetic work considers the whole face, not one line in isolation. I will point out what I see and explain why it matters, and I will not invent concerns you did not raise.

4. We build a plan

I lay out the options that fit your goals, from injectables to skin rejuvenation to regenerative therapies like PRP and PRF. For each one I cover what it does, how long it lasts, what recovery looks like, and what it costs. Some plans are one visit. Some are a series over several months. You leave with a written plan and no obligation to book any of it.

A good consultation ends with you understanding your face better than when you walked in, whether or not you book a treatment.

Questions worth asking

Ask anything. These are the ones I wish more people asked:

1. Who performs the treatment? At Le Skin Aesthetics, the answer is always me. I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and I do every treatment myself.
2. What happens if I do not love the result? Some treatments are adjustable or reversible. Some are not. You should know which is which before you decide.
3. How will this look in six months? In two years?
4. What is the recovery, honestly? Bruising, swelling, and downtime vary by treatment and by person.
5. What would you do if this were your face? I will give you a straight answer.

What a consultation is not

It is not a sales appointment. You will not be pressured to book, and you will not be sold a package you did not ask about. It is also not always a same-day treatment. Some treatments can follow the consultation in the same visit when it is safe and appropriate. Others need scheduling, a review of your medications, or time for you to think. We decide that together.

After your visit

You go home with a plan. When you are ready, you book online at a time that suits you. If a question comes up in the meantime, our FAQ covers the common ones, and you can always reach out for general inquiries.
